I would like to be able to prevent project members from editing dates. I realize there is a setting for only the project manager to adjust dates, but if we have a digital director and a creative director, they both need the ability to change job dates instead of just seeing changes that have been made on the action card.

I would like the ability to copy templates where the user has read only permissions. Currently a user can only copy a template if they have full access. We need to have control over our templates, so they are not edited. I would like my team to be able to copy a controlled template and in the new project they can have full access to edit it as needed as the project owner.

Read-only recently introduced! If you have further permissions desires, please feel free to add Canny items with those extras!

John Furneaux: This is FANTASTIC news!!! Thank you!

John Furneaux: This is great and we are very excited for this feature, however it removed the admin level of being able to add/remove people and teams from projects which is a HUGE negative impact to our team. I'm very excited for this update, but not with the removal of a feature we currently have had. Was this the plan, or just a hickup with the add? It's causing hours of frustration and extra work with this new release and removal of existing features.

Bri Erickson: I have good news for you Bri - thanks to your feedback this will be back in action this weekend!

I know this is planned, but I want to suggest that this also be available when adding people to projects from the Project navigation section. :)
Sidenote: I see a lot of permission feature requests- maybe they can be reviewed/merged while going through the planning/scoping process? :) I am sure you are doing this, but I think that would help clean up the duplicates.

John Furneaux not sure how far you are in the planning process, but was interested in understanding the scope of this feature.
John Furneaux
Savannah Wampler: Hi Savannah! Yes I think you're absolutely correct that the permissions items probably mean different things to different people.
For this particular starting point, we have just released 'read-only' project permissions which accomplish the goals laid out in the original post.
I'm sure that there are other permissions items that teams are enthusiastic about, and we'll continue to work those items as separate Canny posts. 👍

Absolutely. We definitely want the ability to limit who can adjust our scheduled dates for resourcing to prevent accidental moves.

Yes allowing specific roles maybe to have some different permissions over others would be great

Cherine Fahmy: Yes this! Especially since the Read-Only doesn't let us set up those users to provide approvals, which is really what we need. Our Sales team doesnt need to be editting anything, but they DO need to give approvals. So having a different level of read-only permissions would be great so they could be better tailored to different teams.
