Translate dependency lag from action template into gantt predecessor

Currently, if you have an action template set up that has dependencies between the steps, the lag in between those steps isn't "created" in the predecessor column in gantt. This means that if you apply the template, the steps are properly offset, but if you have auto-scheduling turned on, and shift the dates, the plan will schedule the dates as soon as possible, removing the lag that was placed by the action template.

Wondering whether this has been looked at since 2021? It seems that if the Predecessor field (with editable dependency function formula, e.g., 1.2.2FS+5 days) could be included when creating or saving an Action Template, that would fix it, adding in the correct 'lag' between tasks?

This is also the case for applying lead time (allowing the dependent task to start before the completion of the predecessor task).
