The numbers that appear beside proof markups serve no purpose and frequently cover up content on the proof itself, making the proof impossible to read

Also, while having the numbers SOMETIMES helps reviewers find the specific comment, the numbers on the comments themselves are so hard to read once they reach 2 digits, let alone 3

Yes, and so does the little toolbox that pops up. I have to click on the page to hide it, which is irritating when you're going back and forth comparing 2 items
