Personal organization options for approval requests

I would like the ability to sort my approval requests into different folders or categories (ideally self-defined). It is common to have multiple approval requests at once and the regular view can feel overwhelming and disorganized.
For example, I might have a few approval requests that are un-actionable until I receive additional information. It would be nice to put them in a category labeled "Awaiting info" or "TBD." This would let me visually sort my approval requests and in general better organize my projects.
I feel like these categories should be locally defined - I would want the ability sort my approval requests according to my own criteria and not, for example, have project manager-defined labels.
