Cease auto-formatting/auto-deleting numbers and periods in comment cells

A new feature that is making Editorial's job harder is the new auto-formatting of numbered lists, and the fact that numbers disappear upon saving a comment. Very often we are editing a real numbered list, and the edit includes those numbers. The auto-indentation of numbered list has no benefit to a comment writer, and the deletion of numbers/periods in lists can be hazardous. Reference lists, for instance, include numbers and periods before each citation. In order to outsmart this new feature, Edit has to enter each number twice, knowing that one set of numbers will be removed automatically.
In general, Hive comments need to have no autoformatting or autodeleting of text whatsoever--ED/CW needs to be able to enter the precise copy for addition or revision without worrying that some characters will be deleted by the program.

I have not seen this, but I'm adding my vote. I'm still wondering why there are tab stops within comments.
