Ability to schedule to send DM later

Since our team spans multiple time zones, it would be incredibly helpful to have the ability to schedule direct messages to send at a later time. Ideally, a user could draft a DM, choose a specific delivery date and time, and have the message automatically send at that scheduled time. It would be great if the scheduling option was easily accessible directly below or beside the message text box so it feels intuitive and quick to use.
An additional ideal behavior would be for the system to either:
-automatically suggest the recipient’s local working hours/time zone when scheduling, or
-display the recipient’s local time to help avoid after-hours notifications.

Amy Collins I think you bring up a really fair point, and I appreciate the thoughtful perspective here. I also think both realities can exist at the same time.
Our context may be a bit different (though maybe not entirely!). We’re a small remote-first nonprofit with many deeply mission-centered people who care a lot about the work they do and the communities we serve. Even though we have a strong commitment to wellness and there’s no expectation for anyone to check in or respond outside of working hours, people can still naturally feel a sense of urgency when messages come through after hours simply because they care deeply.
Part of the appeal of a feature like this for us is helping reduce some of that tension, while also providing a simple way to schedule a thought or reminder so it’s not forgotten later.
I also really value the point you raised because it highlights that a feature like this may not be equally helpful in every organization or culture. I could definitely see it being more useful in some contexts than others. Thanks again for engaging thoughtfully on it.

This seems like a bad idea Cal Roa. What if you schedule a message that says "Please work on this today" and before it goes out the person messages you that something personally devastating happened and they won't be able to work today? Why not just make it clear across your company that users send messages when it is convenient for them and there is no expectation others check in or respond outside their regular working hours?
I do think it would be convenient to be able to see what time it is in an employee's local time zone when messaging them, but that's a different request.
