We are looking to do a weekly recurring task on Sundays, and a task for every other Friday, AND have it put in the dates for us. We will have approximately 30 of these projects every month and it seems tedious to have to put in the dates for each one, every month.

We desparately need this. Our team switched to Hive just over a month ago and we missed a few major things because the sub actions didn't recur with a date assigned

Lindsey Phillips: Thanks for the share. To keep us on track, can you give 1 example of a 'parent' and a 'child' real-life action where you'd want the child to recur?

John Furneaux: John Furneaux: Hi John, I am also DESPERATELY needing this feature. I know you asked Lindsey but since she hasn't answered yet, I will give an example case of my own. :) We are working on archiving some materials from an online account that will be disappearing in X number of days. I have a parent task, “Archive all [account] content before account is deactivated” which is set with both a start and end date so I can see its span on the Gantt chart (I have things set up so parent task dates can be set independently as opposed to inheriting its dates from child tasks). I have determined a daily quota of items I need to archive in order to complete everything in time, so inside the parent task, I have a child task “Archive [X pieces of content] today” that I would LIKE to recur every day, ending on the account deactivation date. However, because of the current limitation in Hive I cannot do this. So I end up moving that task outside of its parent task so I can have it recur, however with the way I use Hive it really SHOULD be a child of its former parent. (I can’t really use Hive’s phases feature since it isn’t possible to directly assign dates to phases—so I am using parent tasks to represent phases of projects instead). I know this answer was long-winded. Please let me know if any of this needs clarification. I REALLY need this feature. Thank you.

Holly Bobula: Thanks so much for taking the time Holly. Give me 3 weeks and I should be able to share good news. 🙏🎉

This is critical for my bookkeeping firm where most work is recurring. For one item, there may be steps taken on different days.
