Attachment links shouldn't expire

When we first signed up for Hive back in 2018/2019, we were told that download links for files stored in Hive would never expire. We used the links without expiry issues for various projects over the last few years, even with our China office (one of the main reasons we signed up for Hive), with no issues.
However, suddenly we started having issues where the links were expiring before our China offices could access them on the other side of the clock (~13hr time difference). From what I'm being told by Hive CS currently, the links always had expiry time limits, and they vary from 15min to 40hrs depending on the file type, which I never encountered until a few weeks ago.
There should be settings that allow the admins to choose the expiry limit for different file types, as well as the option to never expire, like many other file sharing services do. It can either be in the admin settings, or even when a user copys a link, a settings box can pop up asking how long you want the link to be active for.

Michelle Weeks: We were able to fix an issue which did not set the expiration time properly and caused the links to expire prematurely.

Hi All-
After review, we have determined that updating the current link behavior will be a difficult process and could lead to security vulnerabilities. We recommend downloading a document (3 dot menu > Download) if you run into any expired links.

Kelley Bunge: but 1. how do we know the time limits for each type of file (since apparently length of time varies based on the file type) as this is not noted anywhere that I can find, and 2. how are international companies able to use the links if some of them expire in only 45min when they need to be sent to someone overseas? Specifically, we upload all our files to Hive and an internal server (which we cannot link to), and when we need to send a file to a supplier (who does not have access to Hive), we just want to send a link instead of uploading the file to yet another 3rd party just to get a link that lasts long enough for our overseas supplier to access it. Hive is exceptional because we can use it with various overseas suppliers, including those in China who have a lot of other services blocked for them, but not being able to share links with them to things in Hive is a huge detriment.
